I am Happy with my Doctor who is unique amongst the average Family Doctor with his care; he often will go out of his way to care for patients which none other I know of will do. House call once when support was appreciated waiting for a relatives last hours. There is a fairly new rule that will not allow Family Physicians to bring anything in the Hospital anymore, like a stethoscope or anything that would assist the most caring Doctors. The few that still visited their patients, making the majority who officially gave up this type of patient service. See it is extra work in many Doctor's viewpoint which they do not get paid or receive any extra benefits for. The last straw was when they started to force Doctors to pay for their parking. A dumb move as it was like a slap in the face to a lot of Doctors, so now in BC anyways, it is an unknown Hospital Doctor, I forget their official title, who sees the patients. Again a few who just want to take care of their patients, who possibly did not consider it as a charitable service, but a part of the job done when time allowed, often their last duty for the day. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that it was a representitive for the Physicians who were behind the stripping Doctors of their tools before being allowed to see their patients. Now Dr Larry Bobyn, who I often call Larry which is a questionable habit of mine, and my family too, but he most certainly doesn't care. (see I worked for a hospitable in the greater Vancouver area, and I have been told to "just call me {1st name} ecdt... Sorry I seem to talk lot at times. To make a long story made longer, was for this following point: My caring Doctor still visits his patients when he can, and believe me, it makes a patient's day when hospitalized, to see their family Physician, even if they are considered as nothing more than another visitor, according to the hospital regulations. (I believe some patient's will heal better and quicker for their own Doctor, unless they get a very good, kind and caring Hospitalist Doctor. To feel like your receiving the best care rather than what might seem to be a Doctor who happens to walk by, stopping to see you, reduces much anxiety. Anxiety hinders healing to some degree) 5 for knowlege as he was a Doctor of the Year for 2010 for some kind of a study or something, which both proved his knowledge GREAT, and still learning. Steven

A very caring and gentle doctor and he listens to your concerns and has no problems with referals if necessary. Hes for the patient.Thats a doctor.

Dr Larry Bobyn and his wonderful staff is the greatest. Very caring and willing to do what ever it takes to help you out.
