My wife and I have both had very successful knee replacements. My wife did a lot of research and Dr Birchard came out as the best in Nanaimo, and for that matter as good as any in the country. During rehab I saw many butchered knees by other surgeons and none by Dr Birchard. I would recommend him highly.

Did my left knee replacement a year ago, and right knee two months ago. Lovely man, wonderful surgeon. Can't recommend him highly enough!

44 year old male/Hockey player. Dr.Birchard put my hamstring back on my pelvis in surgery. (Hamstring avulsion). Solid doctor. Knows his stuff. Was clear and direct in his communications. Didn't sugar coat anything. Appropriately caring and empathetic. Saw me at regular intervals post-op. I enjoyed his care. Nice man.

Was absolutely wonderful with my father! Visited him every week or more for 5 months while my dad was in the hospital. Very pleasant, kind and always a straight answer, even with the tough questions! Always gave my dad hope and a very positive outlook on the situation we were facing!
