Dr. Coxon prescribed me with an atni depressant when I had no depression, but anxiety related to specific places and things. The anti-depressants which i were prescribed were also not recommended to be taken with another medication I had been taking at the time. I found that she preferred to give me arbitrary tasks (Try going for a walk) as homework assignments and would follow up the next month. I didn't feel whether I did these things she focused so much on really helped either way. I feel I was mostly told to step out of my comfort zone "You just gotta do it." and she often used anecdotes that somehow related to my situation, but I never felt a sense of care. As an adolescent I had no issues with authority figures but she treated me like a bad student. I was pretty sure she didn't follow DSM guidelines that were relevant to my situation. (Celexa is for depression and mood disorders which I never described having to her, but she seemed particularly in favor of these in comparison to amphetamines which she thought was a good idea to prescribe (contradicting my previous pediatrician) me a Mon-Fri dosage. She didn't bat an eye when i explained to her that after not taking Dexedrine for the weekend my Monday evening couldn't be spent sleeping, "yes doctor I do lie down and close my eyes, but can you believe I still wouldn't sleep!?" So overall she showed no concern for the negative affects that her roller-coaster prescribing methods had on me, and I honestly felt that I was a particularly bothersome patient (unless she just hates her job)and she essentially gave up on me in the end. I hope others haven't felt this way and that she's actually helped some people.
