It is a common theme in these comments that Crosbie is without empathy. Certainly I would agree that he's not active in empathising. However, I can't be sure whether active empathy is a required trait in a good psychiatrist - and I do believe Watler is a good psychiatrist. He's not going to push meds down your throat. It seems to me that he understands mind and body are not separate. And so he will work to get you active - to change your chemistry without necessitating meds.

Dear Dr. Watler During your brief tenure in Kenora, I was a one-time patient of your excellent diagnoses and advice. You understand that "life quality" is more important than "longevity" and I thank you. I'm a transitional era individual (born 1960) who was raised in a period which doctors understood that life is short and death is inevitable so "quality of life" was a doctor's first priority however, I'm presently inundated with the evils of mankind's incessant desire to extend life regardless of the situation. Although I no longer have the care and understanding from the present medical profession, I thank you for the short period of "quality" I experienced. Sincerely G.A.Gordon Kenora, ON
