My husband saw Dr. Yacyshyn in the Heart Function Clinic at VJH. We found him to be very easy to talk to. He has a great sense of humor too. The entire team at the VJH and the Heart Function Clinic is amazing!

Dr. Yacyshyn was the attending ER physician at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2014. My 22-year-old son, Donald (DJ) arrived by ambulance in a state of complete cardiac arrest (clinically dead). Dr. Yacyshyn worked tirelessly to revive my son, even though the odds of any sucess was extremely remote, at best. Eventually, thanks to Dr. Yacyshyn's persistence, he pulled DJ out of his flat-line status...to life. Over the course of the next week, the specialized care of the ICU nurses at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital was phenominal. DJ, over his week stay in ICU, made remarkable progress, and contInues to get stronger every day. He was frequently referred to as the 'miracle' however, this miracle would not have been possible without all these professionals combined, around-the-clock hard work. There is no way possible to thank these caring, devoted professionals for saving the life of my son. The least I can do at this point is fill out this page to share my story and let Dr. Yacyshyn and the ICU nurses (as well as the world) know how grateful DJ and I are to have living angels, such as they, living among us.
