Dr. MacKay is such a kind, patient, and thorough doctor that all my anxiety and worry about needing to be at the ER was significantly decreased by his calm demeanour and how he explained everything he was doing. That day, there was a semi-hysterical man in the ER shouting at the staff, which made the rest of us understandably on edge, but Dr. MacKay came and his presence just made me feel as if I was in safe and competent hands. Great doctor and a great bedside manner :)

Had to take our son to Emergency as he had fallen and cut the back of his head. Dr. MacKay immediately spoke to our son rather than over his head to us, asked what had happened, acknowledged his communications, explained to him what was going to be done and whether it would hurt or not and how much later explained clearly what he could do and not do in the next few days. As our son is very scared of clinics and doctors and as this was his first time at an actual hospital, we as parents were very pleased that he was able to leave with a positive experience. We would love to have him as a family doctor. THANK YOU DR. MACKAY.

Dr. MacKay was very thorough in examining my left jaw pain and although wasn't sure what was causing it, he phoned another doctor then and there for further testing and explained everything to me clearly. Excellent bedside manner!

I was very happy with the care and attention that Dr. Mackay showed to my mom when she was admitted to emergency at Royal Columbian. He was very clear, concise and caring when he spoke to my mom and I about her medical issues, next steps and care plan. He went above and beyond when he took the time to talk to me again later so I fully understood what was going on with my mom and the next steps with her treatment.

Saw Dr. MacKay at Ped's RCH emerg. Knowledgeable Dr. Explained treatment well, also clearly explained potential risks of condition he was treating & what 'red flags' to watch for in child and WHY. :-) Very helpful.
